Currently PhD candidate in Art History at University of California, Los Angeles. My research has been supported by institutions such as the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, and Mellon Foundation. Writing and translation works have appeared in major academic publications by AsiaOne, The Walther Collection, and Steidl Verlag.
Interests include the global history of photography, contemporary art in east asia, and book objects. My ongoing dissertation traces the beginnings of photorealist paintings and contemporary agency in postmao china.
